Americas Cup Valencia

The return of the Americas Cup to Valencia will bring an estimated windfall of between €3-6 billion to the local economy. It is projected that 300 million tv viewers worldwide will watch the Americas Cup as Valencia plays host to Sailing's Olympics yet again. All going well 2011 will see the return of the America's Cup to Valencia which is now home to the biggest marina in the Med : King Juan Carlos 1st Marina of Valencia. . It is  estimated that at least 10,000 jobs will also be created thanks to the return of the Americas Cup. Valencia's designation as the host city for the Americas Cup has obviously given property prices in Valencia a good push over the last few  years  and will undoubtedly continue to do so.

Infrastructural  Projects

Valencia Port : The objective of the Valencian government was to open up the port to the sea and in so doing made the newly built marina both the best & the biggest in the Mediterranean surpassing Monaco which was previously the biggest marina in the Mediterranean. The marina has been built from scratch to accomodate the yachts that will participate in the Americas Cup. As well as this, all other ancillary facilities have been built around the marina so as to facilitate the enormous logistical and human caravan that accompanies the Americas Cup.

Valencia Airport: :A Metro line has been built to link the airport to the city centre and the port ( journey time from the airport to the port is 30 minutes, 20 minutes to the city centre). The runway has been lengthened so as to accomodate even the biggest cargo planes (from 2.7kms to 3.2kms). A two tier car park hasalso been built over the present car park as well as a new terminal building for regional flights.

 

A.V.E. High Speed Train :2010 will see the arrival of the A.V.E. in Valencia drastically reducing the travel time to Madrid from its present 3.5 hours to an incredible 1 hour 25 minutes with the train achieving speeds of up to 350 kms along the way. The arrival of the A.V.E will make Valencia even more accessible even further adding to its attraction as both a tourist and property investment destination. It will also offer Valencian residents the possibility of commuting to Madrid and enjoying the quality of life that Valencia offers with over 320 days of sunshine a year and property prices that are a good one third cheaper than Madrid.
