If ever further proof were needed of Valencia's growing international status it can be found in Google Maps decision to map the city's streets thereby making property search all the easier and dare I say it, fun. Until their arrival in Valencia , Google Maps had only mapped a miniscule amount of the world's cities. Apart from the U.S. , only major cities in Japan , Australia and France had been mapped as well as the route of the Tour de France. In Spain , only Madrid , Barcelona and Seville have been similarly mapped.
This Summer, Google Maps sent their cars touring the city with their roof mounted 360 degree cameras and incorporated G.P.S. systems minutely mapping the city's streetscape. It is now possible to look at the facade of any building in the city from street to rooftop level taking in all the commercial enterprises in each particular building as well as looking at the surrounding buildings on both sides of the street thanks to the 360 degree cameras used by Google Maps. This tool is invaluable when it comes to getting a feel for an area as the street view does indeed tell a lot about any given location : its general appearance / condition, street cleanliness, visual appeal, services in the area and the area's very aesthetic, all of which come into play when property buyers evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of buying in a particular area of any city.
This new interactive map of Valencia can be accessed via either Google Maps or Google Earth and can even be accessed via mobiles with internet or via third party sites such as Idelaista.com.
