Bernie Ecclestone has himself described Valencia as the : "best kept secret of Formula 1 this year", and he of all F1 insiders should know. Mid June sees the start of the positioning of the stands around the circuit with the track itself nearing completion. Safety barriers will also be put in place separating the fortunate 112,771 fans from the heartstopping jostling for position that will take place right before them. The safety barriers will also serve as advertising vehicles as is standard practice everywhere on the F1 circuit. The safety barriers will be composed of concrete and steel of 3 metres in height with 11,500 metres of barrier being used in total in addition to a whopping 54,000 tyres.
The Swiss company "Nussli" has been charged with the task of installing the stands throughout the circuit. Nussli is world famous in the area of sporting events having worked on such internationally renowned competitions as the Olympic Games, the Indy 500 and the America's Cup to name but a few.
The 26 stands around the circuit will be from 5 to 15 metres in height and from 30 to 140 metres wide weighing 3,200 tonnes in total. Stand No. 3 will be the smallest with just 24 rows and a capacity of 1,200 whereas stand no.10 will be the largest with a capacity of 9.474 spectators. The highest viewing point from the stands will be from row 39 in stand 9 which is one of the stands within the marina proper. A team of 150 operatives will be involved in the errecting of the stands which will begin in mid June. Five walkways will also cross the circuit at different points as well as there being a viewing platform over the Turia riverbed enclosed in orange glass ; the colour orange symbolising Valencia's rich agricultural heritage in the citric fruit sector especially.
Safety being of the utmost importance, the stands must be at least 3 metres back from the safety barriers.

With less than 100 days before the arrival of F1 in Valencia there is frenzied activity in the property rental area with fans who have failed to get accomodation scurrying to rent apartments in particular for the week of the formula 1. Balconies with "prime views" of the circuit especially those situated on Dr. J J Domine which directly overlooks the circuit and the marina are much in demand. With stand seats just down the street being offered on the black market at up to €2,800 a seat which have a face value of €480 ; renting an apartment on J J Domine for the week or just balconies for the 3 days makes much more sense financially. We will be offering a number of these balconies for rent in the coming weeks as well as apartments.
